Q+A with Vocalist Michael Vampire from Vampires Everywhere!

For those of us that do not know who Vampires Everywhere! are, how would you describe yourselves?

One could describe “Vampires Everywhere!” as Marilyn Manson meets Metalcore haha. I feel if you are looking for a visual description before you actually hear the band’s music, this would give you that vision. However, we are a whole lot more than that! The band name comes from the comic book given to Sam by the Frog Brothers in the 1987 cult classic film “The Lost Boys.” Most new fans think the band has been around for 4 years but in reality we have been on & off touring for 15 years! We have been on multiple record labels and toured with some of your favorite emo/metalcore bands. The new version of the band has been making waves because of our cover of “Cry Little Sister” from “The Lost Boys” movie.

You, as a band, draw inspiration from many cult-classic films. Where did that initial feelings start to emerge? Was there a defining moment?

Well, the theme of the band was always supposed to be based on my favorite horror films. I wanted to start something I felt whole-heartedly about. I didn’t want to start another “Attack Attack” and at that time .. that was the thing bands were doing. We wanted to pave our own route and actually look like a version of 1980’s Motley Crue. I was tired of seeing bands in flannels and beards step on stage and consider themselves rockstars. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with this look in general but I wanted to be different. My favorite movie growing up was “The Lost Boys,” so it seemed almost necessary to pay the film homage by naming my band after it. I didn’t realize at the time “Twilight” would be correlated to us haha! I learned this the hard way.

Your most recent releases have been covers of “White Wedding” and “Cry Little Sister”. What was it like to put together these songs? Do you have any original work in the pipeline?

Honestly, covering songs is super hard! Especially covering songs that are iconic like the two you named. I had to make sure the structure was perfect, yet different! I had to make sure my voice had the right tone and I sang in the right key. If anything was off, the song would turn into complete shit. I spent about 10 hours singing “Cry Little Sister;” that is how important the song is to me. I wanted to make sure everything was perfectly on key before we took it to melodyne. I sang the chorus like 100 times haha! Yes, we are actually planning on releasing two new tracks off our upcoming LP “The Devil Made Me Do it.” So stay tuned for some new material from us and I think a lot of people will be surprised by the path I took. The first song to drop is “Antichrist,” which is about my struggles in the music industry.

You recently announced a 2025 co-headline tour with Priest w/ support from Julien-K. What are the emotions surrounding the anticipation of this run?

I am beyond scared! Headlining means “responsibility” and that is terrifying to say the least! Priest is coming from Sweden so they are expecting amazing shows and turnouts! I just hope I don’t let them down. I want them to have the best time in the USA and create long lasting memories! Obviously, I’m excited to get back out there and see what we have built over the last 4 years. We toured with Alesana for 3 years! We killed ourselves with a low guarantee to build our army of fans and prove to the world VE! deserves respect! That being said ..I am excited peppered with terrified!

Other than this run, what does 2025 look like for VE!

We are planning an east coast tour in March and have a couple of festivals. We are trying to keep as busy as possible. I love living in Las Vegas, but when I’m standing still, it feels like the world is passing me by. I don’t deserve to be sitting ..I rather run fast and hard. It’s all about reaching the fans and releasing new music. Our new LP “The Devil Made Me Do It” drops January 7th.

Is there anything you wanted to mention that I did not bring up?

Every morning, I wake up and thank the powers that be that I am still able to do this. I love playing music and performing more than I love breathing. So, it’s an absolute honor to be able to tour and perform everyday. Thank you to all the fans that supported me and keep supporting me. I love you all and I know 2025 will be a year to remember! See you on the road!
