Pop punks’ cutest couple, The Dollyrots, have released a lyric video for their cover track of Billy Braggs’ “A New England.” The track is off of their newest album, Night Owls. The Dollyrots are Kelly Ogden on bass and vocals and Luis Cabezas on guitar and vocals.
Presave Night Owls here.
Kelly Ogden on “A New England”:
“We’ve got a thing about wishing on stars; it’s been a reoccurring theme in our music since the start. ‘A New England is, in our opinion, the greatest song ever written that mentions wishing on something in the sky. We wanted to make our version give a nod to Kirsty MacColl, too, so this one includes the extra lyrics from hers. Because there’s never any shame in making a cover of a cover – if the originals are THAT good!”
As far as Night Owls goes, The Dollyrots shines again with the delivery of the high-energy punk tracks, rowdy rockers, or introspecctive ballads.
Folk n Rock on Night Owls:
“Night Owls serves as a musical buffet, offering up tastes of different styles, though it’s not too heavy or a major shift in their sound by any means. Whether you’re a die-hard punk fan of all flavors or someone just dipping thier toes into the genre, this album has a track that will resonate.”
They’ve also announced June dates on the west coast of the United States. On this tour, they’re taking Diesel Boy and Go Better Go as support for selective dates.
