News: Cloakroom Release Single ‘Bad Larry’ off Their Upcoming Album

Ahead of their upcoming album, Cloakroom have released their lead single “Bad Larry” along with a music video. The song is a comforting midwest lullaby that yearns for simpler times and seeks solace amongst the chaos. The Indiana-based troupe tapped into their roots for this video and honed in on a small-town diner to set the scene.

Cloakroom have shown they are capable of accentuating a variety of genres through their music, but are known for their shoegazey vocals and guitar melodies. This new track adds a sprinkle of folk appeal and cradles you with its comforting sound.  “Bad Larry” is a sneak peak of what’s coming from Last Leg of the Human Table, which is set to be out on February 28 via Closed Casket Activities.

Lyricist/guitarist Doyle Martin explains, “It was written about a fabled character out of folklore like ‘Diamond Joe’ composed by Baldwin ‘Butch’ Hawes … If that’s who even wrote that song first. Bad Larry roams free and wants for nothing, living a life of experience, lives by his own rules and dying on his own terms, a life to vilify or envy.”

Hot off a supporting tour for Full of Hell in 2024, Cloakroom are ready to put out new music and have already scheduled a release show once Last Leg of the Human Table is officially out in the world. They will be performing the album in Chicago on April 12 at The Empty Bottle, currently their only scheduled show of the year so far; however, more dates will likely be announced following the album’s release.

You can preorder the vinyl for Last Leg of the Human Race and merch at their official store.
