News: Indie Rocker AVATARI Releases New Single ‘P#RN’

Hollywood-based indie rocker AVATARI recently released a new single called “P#RN” which addresses internet addiction in the catchiest way possible.

After arriving in Hollywood, AVATARI met the town’s dark underbelly and found himself deep in an addiction that almost landed him in jail or worse. Instead, he found his way to the other side and came out of his addiction forging a new musical path of soulful alternative rock that’s anthemic yet personal. He’s earned acclaim for his singles such as “Legacy,” which was featured in an ad campaign for Rolls Royce, and “High Like This,” which detailed his struggle with addiction in very powerful and honest ways.

“P#RN” sees AVATARI tackling a different kind of addiction, and no, it’s not to Internet pornography per se—It’s about doomscrolling. “P#RN is a deep dive into addiction and social media culture,” the artist explains. “Have you ever heard of doomscrolling? Yep, that’s what I’m talking about. From comparison, to escapism, to voyeurism—pick your poison—We’re going on a wild ride where you don’t even need to leave your couch. Or take off your bathrobe. Is this song about pornography? Sure. But I think it’s a little deeper than that. It’s  an exploration of desire, addiction, and the search for true connection in an increasingly disconnected world.”
