Molder have released a new single called “Bursted Innards” ahead of their forthcoming third album, Catastrophic Reconfiguration. Look for this disc to be released November 8 via Prosthetic Records.
Vocalist and guitarist Aaren Pantke states:
“Those that have seen us live in the last year should be familiar with this one. This is actually the first song we wrote for the new record and the first new one we started “testing” live. This one is indirectly about my frustrations with being on the road, alancing ‘real life’ on top of ‘living the dream.’ Being so fed up I could just explode. But what if I did, in a literal sense? Please just excuse the mess …”
Regarding juggling real life with band life, Pantke comments:
“Respect to those that tour full time, hold down jobs, and still find the time to be inspired enough to get it done! That said, we did get it done; it just took a little bit longer than we’d have liked! Once the ball got rolling, it stayed rolling.”
And what can fans expect with the artwork? Pantke says:
“The art concept for this record sort of follows the same as ‘Engrossed in Decay,’ but this time, rather than a death through decay, it’s a rebirth in it. We wanted it to pay homage to the works of ‘Mental Funeral’ or ‘Dark Recollections,’ amongst other things of course, but those two references definitely shine through on this particular piece. As far as colors go, we really wanted it to by a nice companion piece to the last record, without completely repeating it.”
