News: Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Company Owned by Justin Sane’s Bandmates in Anti-Flag

While legal troubles continue for former Anti-Flag frontman Justin Sane, real name Justin Geever, it seems that those legal troubles will not extend to his former bandmates following a decision by District Judge Brenda K. Sannes.

You’ll remember that Anti-Flag abruptly broke up in July 2023 following allegations from a former fan and holistic therapist out of New York named Kristina Sarhadi who accused Geever of a violent sexual assault during a 2010 film festival. Following Sarhadi’s accusations, more women came forward to detail a history of predatory behavior, and Sarhadi filed a lawsuit against Geever as well as against Hardwork Distribution, a company which was run by all four members of Anti-Flag including Geever, Patrick Bollinger (Pat Thetic), Chris Head, and Chris Barker (Chris No. 2). While the lawsuit against Geever will continue, the judge has decided that the lawsuit against Hardwork will not.

The charges against Hardwork were dismissed in mid-December but only came to public attention recently due to recently surfaced court documents. The motion to dismiss states that the, “(p)laintiff has not plausibly alleged that she was a ‘customer and business invitee of Hardwork’ in the motel room (where the assault occurred).”

Even though the suit against Geever is meant to continue, it may be difficult to continue, as Sarhadi says that Geever has fled to Ireland to avoid taking legal accountability. Geever holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Ireland, as obtaining Irish citizenship is relatively simple when you have a recent ancestor like a parent or a grandparent who was born in Ireland.

As always, New Noise Magazine is a woman-owned, queer-and-women-run business that believes in standing with other women including the victims that have come forward about Geever’s predatory behavior.

If you or someone you know has been the victim of sexual assault you can contact RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-HOPE (4673)You are not alone.
