Portland’s Gaytheist have announced a new album, The Mustache Stays. The record is set to release February 21, 2025, via Hex Records. GAYTHEIST take influences from artists form a time when heavy metal was still having fun without tipping over into cheese like Torche, Big Buisness, and The Melvins.

Filled with hooks that collide with fuzzed out guitars and a pummeling rhythm section, fans of bands similar to Helms Alee, Karp and Whores should be over the moon to check this out. The first single off of the album, “Zoobreak,” is out January 6, with a music video to accompany.
The Mustache Stays is the newest entry from the long-running Portland band. Their last album was back in 2020 with How Long Have I Been On Fire? Now the trio are once bringing their joyous energy and clever wit to serious and morose subject matter. The band lies somewhere between the heavily distorted grime of noise rock and speed of punk and thrash. This new album features 10 brand new tracks as well as one very special covered that was mixed by the long time collaborator Stephen Hawkes.
