As a piece of unfortunate news, Marc Campbell of The Nails has passed away. Campbell has fronted the band for their entire phase and also during their early stint as The Ravers. The artist passed away at his home, on his couch while he was watching TV with his wife. It was an unexpected incident, but it happened very quickly.
Campbell came to Colorado from San Francisco in 1976. Earlier, he was in a poetic duo Pits of Passion. When he was in Boulder, he noticed a card posted on the notice board of the University of Colorado by student David Kaufman. Kaufman was looking for band members to form a reggae band. That’s how The Nails were formed in 1976 under the name The Ravers. They released an EP under that name and quickly got signed to RCA. The band relocated to New York and released three albums.
