Some albums are just so good they need to be revisited. Oceans In The Sky’s Parallels is far and away one such album.
Thankfully, New York’s Oceans in the Sky, a.k.a. Liam Frost, is releasing a deluxe version of his debut album Parallels on December 6 via Heading East Records. Preorder via Bandcamp here.
Oceans in the Sky (formerly known as Mugen), Frost’s high-energy solo project, began in 2013 with the release of his debut EP, Sparks. As Mugen, he has released singles, played solo and full band shows in China, Taiwan, and the U.S., and performed on TV and radio shows in Taiwan.
Back in New York City, Frost has assembled a full band to support his live show, signed a record deal with Fred Mascherino’s (Taking Back Sunday) Heading East Records and inked a representation deal with REC Creative, a Taiwanese agency run by Evan Hsieh (A-Lin, Wang Leehom). Oceans released the debut album Parallels at the start of 2023 and embarked on multiple tours throughout the U.S. and Canada in 2023 and 2024.
Parallels (Deluxe) spans countless genres with multilingual lyrics, catchy pop melodies and a punk energy throughout. The theme is no matter which side of the world Frost is on, he is looking for a sense of belonging. Being biracial and multicultural, he sees parallels in Western and Eastern music and connects them.
